Security services company The Squad have launched the UK's first veteran Fire and Rescue Service ID card that will help raise much-needed funds for three charities that support veterans. Along with PTSD 999 and Sussex Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service, REACT will benefit from each sale of the new cards, that can offer veteran firefighters a sense of identity.

When a firefighter hands in their ID Card at the end of their period of service, they can often feel like they lose their identity. This can affect their mental health and in turn, many other aspects of their life. The Squad launched the ID card, along with cards for police and armed forces veterans, as a way of recognising the service of an individual, whilst being a tool to help maintain community connections and helping to facilitate a smooth transition into retirement.

Cards are also available for Retired Medical Professionals and Retired Police Officers. To find out more about these ID cards and to purchase one, please visit The Squad's website.

All submitted ID, proof of service/pension and proof of rank will be checked by The Squad prior to ID being issued.
