Another 17 volunteer REACT Responders have successfully completed their International Operations training course.

The group were put through their paces by a team of existing International Responders, who volunteer their time to support others who want to complete the course. The team embarked on a series of intensive and challenging scenarios to test their abilities in high pressure situations.

This latest course saw three responders return to successfully reactivate, having completed the old version of the international course a few years ago. All spoke very highly of the course and felt they had gained by taking the opportunity to update their skills.

Our Responder volunteers receive intensive training that enables them to react rapidly to emergencies and disasters both here in the UK and internationally. Examples of our UK work include assisting in flooded areas, welfare checks on individuals following power outages after storms or helping to support the NHS during periods of unusual pressure. Our international work can involve helping people affected by earthquakes or tsunamis, getting aid to people in hard to reach places, enabling people to access clean drinking water and much more.
